The Arizona Department of Gaming has opened applications for three sports betting licenses.
According to local sports wagering regulations, the state allows 20 licenses, but only issued 18 when the industry launched. Since launch, the state’s tribal licensees reached their maximum allocation at 10 while the event arena locations have been issued 8 of the 10 available licenses.

PointsBet, bet365, Tipico, and Betr are among the operators that are expected to apply while PointsBet seems to be one of the most likely to have an interest. The company, which was recently acquired by Fanatics, narrowly missed out on a license through its partner the Yavapai-Apache Nation during the first round of applications.
