Betfair, the UK-based casino and sportsbetting company that runs the world’s largest online betting exchange, has made the decision to pull all of its online gambling services from the Netherlands.

Betfair Set to Pull Out of The Netherlands Before Remote Gambling Industry Launch, the company announced that its services would no longer be available for Dutch players from September 30th 2021.

“Unfortunately a business decision has been made to no longer offer our services in the Netherlands.

This will be coming into effect on the 30th of September.

Betfair Set to Pull Out of The Netherlands Before Remote Gambling Industry Launch Betfair Set to Pull Out of The Netherlands Before Remote Gambling Industry Launch – KOA Act which came into effect on April 1st 2021.

The new act imposes stricter regulations with regards to marketing and self-exclusion and a tax rate of 29%. However, the government has intimated that this tax rate will drop to 20% for online operators.

The application window for operator licenses has been open since April 1st.
