Connecticut Senators Pass Sports Betting Legislation — Industry Set for Fall Launch

The Connecticut Senate has passed legislation that will see the state's tribal gaming compacts amended to include both online and retail sports betting. The bill passed a House vote last week and will now go to Governor Ned Lamont's desk to be signed into law.

The Connecticut Senate has passed legislation that will see the state’s tribal gaming compacts amended to include both online and retail sports betting. The bill passed a House vote last week and will now go to Governor Ned Lamont’s desk to be signed into law.

Connecticut Senators Pass Sports Betting Legislation — Industry Set for Fall Launch

Once signed by the governor, the amended compacts must go before the Department of the Interior who will likely approve the new agreements in June or July by which time the state will have already started working on the necessary regulatory processes.

This would then allow the tribal casinos to launch their online and retail legal sports betting products and services just in time for the start of the NFL season
