Online casinos reported an increase of 2.4% in GGR from kr2.81 billion (€376.4 million) in 2021 to kr2.88 billion (€387.1 million) in 2022. This was driven by a record-setting month of December when online casinos reported all-time high combined revenues of kr272 million (€36.5 million) beating the previous record of kr261 million (€35 million) set in January of 2022.
Gaming machine operators reported a significant increase in yearly revenues with a total of kr1.1 billion (€147.8 million) for 2022. This was a 47.5% increase on the kr782 million (€105.1 million) reported in 2021. Land-based casinos also reported positive gains of 59.1% year-on-year following the full reopening of all gambling venues in 2022. GGR for the year totaled kr349 million (€46.9 million) compared to kr220 million (€29.5 million) in 2021.
