DraftKings Launches Virginia Sportsbook Just in Time for Super Bowl LV

Speaking after the announcement, co-founder and CEO Jason Robins said:  

Since Virginia passed sports betting legislation in April 2020, as many as 14 betting brands are believed to have applied for licences to operate in the state. These include BetRivers, Unibet, and PointsBet who are all due to launch sometime in early 2021. 

And according to a recent consumer research study carried out by DraftKings, Virginians are most likely to bet on the NFL first followed by the NBA and then College Football. So while the brand will offer bettors in Virginia the opportunity to bet on more than 250 sports leagues, it seems their January pre-Super Bowl launch was timed to perfection.
