The latest data released by UK self-exclusion organization GAMSTOP reveal a 9.5% year-on-year increase in new registrations for 2023.
According to the data, over 92,000 vulnerable people signed up with GAMSTOP during 2023. This marks a new yearly record for the gambling self-exclusion program. This brings the total number of people now signed up to over 433,000.
There has been a 31% year-on-year increase in the number of 16 to 24-year-olds signing up to GAMSTOP during the second half of the year. This accounted for 21% of all new registrations, an increase from 17% in the same period in 2022.
55% of those who registered opted for a five-year exclusion from gambling with the remaining 45% opting for between six months and a year.
