According to the report released by the gaming board, $44 million of all revenues were generated by parlay wagers with Illinois casino users and bettors placing over $166.4 million in parlay wagers during the month. Sportsbooks held a record-breaking 26.5% on these types of bets.
The busy NFL schedule saw sportsbooks generate $21.2 million in revenue from football betting alone.
As a result of the record-breaking revenues, the state collected over $12.7 million in taxes, another state record.
Mobile sports betting accounted for 95.7% of all betting activity as gamblers placed $746 million in wagers through online sportsbooks. DraftKings dominated the market with a 38% share of all mobile sports bets as its customers wagered over $283.8 million through the DraftKings app.
FanDuel was its nearest competitor reporting over $214.4 million in wagers through its online operations. Meanwhile, BetRivers was the only other online sportsbook to accept over $100 million in wagers with a handle of $112.3 million.
The market leader in retail sports betting was River Des Plaines with a handle of $15.5 million for the month.
