The latest figures mark a 65% increase in sports betting activity from August’s reported handle of $215.6 million.
Ameristar Casino was once again the market leader as its sportsbook accepted $138.4 million in wagers accounting for 39% of all sports betting activity in Indiana. This was an increase of 74% on the previous month’s reported activity. $130.3 million of Ameristar Casino’s wagers came through the company’s mobile betting app run in partnership with DraftKings. The casino’s other mobile sports betting partner, theScore, reported receiving $3.1 million in wagers while the casino’s retail sportsbook accepted bets totaling just over $5 million.
Blue Chip Casino followed in second place as both its retail and mobile sportsbooks accepted a combined $78.1 million throughout the month. The casino’s partnership with online operator FanDuel saw mobile bets totaling $77.2 million placed through its app while retail bets amounted to $905,324.
Hollywood Lawrenceburg was the retail market leader as its sportsbook accepted $11.5 million in wagers during September.
