Kansas State Governor, Laura Kelly is expected to sign a sports betting bill into law sometime this week.
Sports betting bill next on Governor’s agenda
According to reports in local press, when asked by the Kansas Capitol Bureau when she will sign SB 84 into law, Gov. Kelly said:
“I think some time this week…so stay tuned.”
However, she also added that:
Kansas State Governor Set to Sign Sports Betting Bill This Week that would allow for legal sports betting in Kansas following a special overnight session in the house. The bill was passed by a vote of 21 to 13.“I never say whether I’m going to sign it, until I’ve actually seen it, but I expect that I’m going to get that bill this week.”
The bill will allow both retail sports betting at Kansas state casinos and mobile sports betting from anywhere within the state.
