In a press release issued yesterday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) announced that all employees at licensed casinos in Clark County must wear face coverings when working in public spaces. The order comes into effect from 12.00am on Thursday July 22nd, 2021.

The new rule comes after the Board of County Commissioners for Clark County approved a motion that requires employees at any business in the county to wear a mask while in a public space.

Speaking of the new requirement, NGCB Chair J. Brin Gibson said:

“When the Board issued Industry Notice #2021-48 earlier this year, it did so knowing that the pandemic would be an evolving emergency for the foreseeable future, and that local jurisdictions would act in the best interests of their constituents.

The release also informs licensees that if any gaming employees are found to be in breach of the new face covering requirement, the licensee could face disciplinary action from the Nevada Gaming Commission on the NGCB’s recommendation.

There has been no indication of how long the new face covering requirement will remain in place.
