The Lithuanian Ministry of Finance has approved a resolution that will see new permit fees introduced for the gambling sector.

Any amendments or additions to a casino, slots or bingo license will incur a fee of €369 while online gambling permits are set to cost €784.

The fees listed are in addition to the fee paid once a gambling license is approved. This has also been changed to a flat rate of €966. Any amendments to a license will incur an approval fee of €615.

The license fee for lotteries has also increased from €1,395 to €1,620.

Despite the increases, Lithuania gambling permit fees still remain among the lowest in Europe.

The new resolution is just one aspect of the government’s efforts to bring the online and land-based gambling industries under tighter regulation. Last month the Lithuanian Gambling Supervisory Service issued a fine of €15,000 to Top Sport for allowing a user to make deposits to their account using another person’s debit card. This was the third time the company was fined so far this year.
