Gambling industry legal action

Andrew Martin Jones, director of a Malta-based gaming firm, was arrested and arraigned in court following a complaint from a former customer.

The complaint, which dates back some years, claimed that the gaming company owed the customer a substantial sum in unpaid winnings.

Lawyers for Jones told the court that the €910,000 that was owed to the complainant had been repaid in full and that the complaint had been officially withdrawn.

Despite the reimbursement, the prosecution requested a freeze order on Jones’ assets based on the seriousness of the offenses relating to the complaint. These included misappropriation, acquiring money through fraud, making fraudulent gains, money laundering, and various accounting offenses.
