The latest revenue report from the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Commission has revealed that the state’s six casinos combined to generate $165.3 million in gambling revenue during the month of September. The latest figures mark an increase of 15.1% ($21.7 million) on the same period in 2020.
The commission reported that contributions to the state during the month of September totaled $68.9 million, up over $9.2 million on the same period in 2020. However, it also noted that casinos were operating at just 50% capacity during September 2020. Of the $68.9 million paid to the state, over $50 million went to the Maryland Education Trust Fund.
The monthly report gives a breakdown of September revenues for each of the state’s six licensed casinos.

While the state casinos’ combined gaming revenue dropped slightly from the $168 million generated in August, the industry as a whole has enjoyed a relatively successful summer period.
