Maryland mobile sports betting is unlikely to launch for months based on the timeline for approval issued by the Sports Wagering and Application Review Commission (SWARC).
SWARC still waiting in industry analysis report
The SWARC provides final approval for all Maryland sports betting licenses and in a meeting this week, it outlined what needs to happen in the state before mobile sports betting can be approved. It now looks increasingly unlikely that these conditions can be met before the end of the year.

There will then be an further 45 days added to review all applicants. If the number of applicants is exceptionally high, which is likely, this timeframe could be extended even further.
While mobile sports betting could, in theory, be approved by the end of the year, this is heavily reliant on how soon the SWARC can get its hands on the industry analysis.
