According to the latest monthly revenue report from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the state’s casinos and sports betting operators combined to generate just over $160 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR) during the month of April.
The latest figures represent an increase of 4.84% over the previous month when GGR totaled $152.6 million.

Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor combined to generate $101 million in GGR throughout the month. This was a drop of 2.8% compared to the $104 million reported in the previous month.
Encore Boston Harbor was the market leader in all categories reporting monthly GGR of $63.9 million, down by 3.47% month-by-month. This resulted in state taxes of $15.9 million or 55.8% of all casino gaming taxes for the month.
Meanwhile, MGM reported GGR of $23.7 million, marginally less than the previous month. This saw the casino pay in just over $5.9 million in taxes. Plainridge reported $13.4 million from its slots only facility. This resulted in taxes of $6.5 million due to its tax rate of 49%.
