The latest monthly revenue report from Ohio Casino Control Commission has revealed that the OH casinos and racinos brought in more than $185.3 million last month after winner payouts, breaking the previous record for the month of September.
Ohio Casinos Set Another Gambling Revenue Record for Month of SeptemberSeptember’s figures follow record revenues for the month of August (194.3 million) and June ($196.8 million). However, gambling activity continued to slow slightly as the summer came to a close.
The latest report also revealed that gambling revenue amounted to over $1.7 billion across the state in the first three quarters of 2021. This far exceeds the $1.44 billion reported during the entire year of 2020. However, the report did also note that 2020’s figures were somewhat lower than expected following the forced closure of all 11 facilities from mid-March to mid-June due to the global pandemic.
Approximately one-third of all gambling revenues are turned over to the state in the form of taxes and fees each month resulting in state incomes of roughly $60 million for the month of September.
The report also gives a breakdown of revenues reported for the Cleveland/Akron market during the month.
MGM Northfield Park — reported revenue of $22.9 million, up 15% from $19.9 million in September 2020.
