Ontario Gamblers Wagered CAD$4.07 Billion in First Three Months of iGaming

iGaming Ontario (iGO) has released its first revenue report covering the first full quarter since the launch of the regulated iGaming industry on April 4th 2022.
Ontarians wagered an average of $113 per month

According to the report, Ontarian gamblers wagered just over CAD$4.07 billion (€3.1 billion) for the period generating CAD$162 million (€132.6 million) in revenue. The overall wagering figure does not include wagers made using bonus cash or free bet offers.

There were 429,000 active player accounts for the period with an average monthly spend of CAD$113 (€86.2) per account. These accounts were held at 31 gambling websites operated by Ontario’s 18 licensed iGaming companies. The report does not include revenues from iGaming products offered by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

Speaking of the report, Dave Forestell, iGO’s Board Chair., said:

“Our aim is to be the best gaming jurisdiction in the world and these positive results are an early sign that we’re on our way. With a competitive revenue share rate and low barriers to entry, Ontario is an attractive iGaming market with a strong player base.”

Ontario’s regulated iGaming market launched earlier this year on April 4th.
