The latest monthly revenue report from the Oregon Lottery has revealed that its Scoreboard sportsbook saw betting activity increase by 42% as Oregon gamblers placed over $25 million in wagers throughout the month of September.

Although still short of January’s record total of $34.9 million, September’s figure marks a significant improvement over the summer months when activity failed to reach the $20 million mark for two months in a row.

The start of the NFL season saw football take over from baseball as the most popular sport at Oregon sportsbooks. The sport attracted 373,806 individual bets totaling $9.7 million. A win margin of 5.55% resulted in gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $538,346.

Baseball was the next most popular sport attracting 171,485 wagers totaling $6.8 million. This resulted in GGR of $250,523 from a win margin of 3.69%.
