Sweden’s gambling authority, Spelinspektionen, has released its latest financial report revealing that gambling operators generated SEK 6.7 billion ($602.8 million/€562.8 million) in Q2 of 2023.
Online gambling accounted for 62.4% of all revenues
Commercial online gambling including both online casino gaming and sports betting generated the lion’s share of revenues with SEK 4.18 billion ($376.1 million/€351.1 million) reported by iGaming companies. This accounted for 62.4% of all gambling revenues. It also represented a slight decrease on the previous quarter and a 1.1% decrease on Q2 2022. So far this year, online gambling operators have generated SEK 8.36 billion ($752.2 million/€702.2 million) in revenues.
