Commercial online gambling including both online casino gaming and sports betting generated the lion’s share of revenues with SEK 4.18 billion ($376.1 million/€351.1 million) reported by iGaming companies. This accounted for 62.4% of all gambling revenues. It also represented a slight decrease on the previous quarter and a 1.1% decrease on Q2 2022. So far this year, online gambling operators have generated SEK 8.36 billion ($752.2 million/€702.2 million) in revenues.
State lottery and in-person slot games generated SEK 1.39 billion ($125 million/€116.7 million) in revenue for the quarter. This was a 2.9% increase over the previous quarter but a 1.6% decrease on Q2 2022. This brings the year-to-date total for 2023 to SEK 2.75 billion ($247.4 million/€230.9 million).
The 2023 year-to-date total for gambling revenues now stands at SEK 13.2 billion ($1.18 billion/€1.1 billion).
