The Virginia Lottery has released its latest monthly revenue report revealing that the state’s licensed sportsbooks accepted $182.4 million in wagers during the month of August.

August’s figure means that local sports fans have now wagered more than $1.48 billion since the industry launched in January 2021. Since sports betting launched in late January, the state has now collected just over $11 million in taxes.
