West Virginia has Collected $53.3 Million in Gambling Taxes so far in FY23 has generated taxes of $4.9 million for the fiscal year to date from over $484 million in wagers up until May 13th 2023. of this figure mobile sports betting accounted for $417 million while retail wagers at casino sportsbooks totaled $67 million.

The state’s iGaming operators have reported accepting over $3.5 billion in wagers for the same fiscal period. This resulted in $18 million in taxes from online casino gaming. This was a 39.5% increase on the $12.9 million collected during the same reporting period in fiscal year 2022.

According to the report, the state’s four land-based casinos generated $30.4 million in taxes from $86.9 million in revenue on table games.
