According to revenue data released by the state revenue department, West Virginia has collected $53.3 million in taxes from online gambling sites, sports betting and casinos so far in the current fiscal year.
West Virginia has Collected $53.3 Million in Gambling Taxes so far in FY23 has generated taxes of $4.9 million for the fiscal year to date from over $484 million in wagers up until May 13th 2023. of this figure mobile sports betting accounted for $417 million while retail wagers at casino sportsbooks totaled $67 million.The latest figures mean that West Virginia has collected $15.3 million in sports betting taxes since sportsbooks first launched in July of 2019.
