The move to wind, solar, and hydro power will reportedly result in a carbon footprint reduction of around 61,500 tons over the three years of the TGP agreement. According to the EPA carbon calculator, that’s equivalent to the carbon emissions from 48,718 cars driven for one year.
The switch to renewable energy is just one aspect of the brand’s drive to become a green company. One such initiative is the introduction of Smart Metering in all of its 2,000 betting shops which the company hopes will help further reduce its carbon footprint.

In related news, William Hill reported a year-on-year drop in net revenue of 16% for 2020. The drop to £1.32bn is believed to be a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic.
