Michigan Sets Huge All-time Record for Online Sports Betting in October revealing that the state’s licensed sports betting operators accepted $497.5 million in wagers throughout the month of October, a 28.6% increase on September’s figures.

Mobile sports wagers accounted for 93.1% of all sports betting activity as online sportsbooks accepted a new all-time high of $463.3 million in wagers during the month. This beat the previous record set in March 2021 by 28.8%.

MotorCity Casino led the online market with a handle of $123.9 million for the month, a jump of more than $40 million from the previous month. September’s market leader, Bay Mills Indian Community, was just behind with a handle of $120.4 million.

Michigan Sets Huge All-time Record for Online Sports Betting in October taxes of $552,907 and city wagering and municipal taxes of $354,113 paid to the city of Detroit.

Retail sports betting activity increased slightly from $32.5 million in September to $34.2 million in October. However, qualified adjusted gross receipts for the month dropped by 23.6% compared to the previous month. This resulted in state taxes of $99,977 and $122,194 in retail sports betting taxes paid to the city of Detroit.

Michigan Sets Huge All-time Record for Online Sports Betting in October also enjoyed a good month with internet gaming gross receipts amounting to $103.6 million, up slightly from the $102.4 million posted in the previous month. This is the third month in a row that Michigan online casinos have set a new record for revenue.
