The latest monthly revenue report from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has revealed that the state’s licensed sports betting operators took in over $776.2 million in wagers during the month of September.
Pennsylvania Sports Betting Activity Jumps by 34.1%. Sportsbooks comfortably beat the state’s all-time sports wagering record of $615.2 million set in January of 2021. Pennsylvania Sports Betting Activity Jumps by 34.1% accounted for just over 91% of all wagers made throughout the month as mobile sportsbooks reported accepting over $714 million in bets during the month. This resulted in revenue of $37.2 million, down slightly from the $40.9 million posted in September. Online operators handed out over $18.7 million in promotional credits resulting in taxable gross revenue of $18.5 million.Retail sportsbooks continue to recover from a slow summer as operators reported accepting $62.1 million during October, up 21% from the previous month. Despite taking in more wagers, retail sportsbooks reported lower revenues for the month as the combined taxable revenue total came to just over $5 million, more than $2 million less than September.
Both mobile and retail sports betting generated combined revenues of $42.3 million, down 12.1% from the previous month. This resulted in combined taxable revenue of $23.5 million yielding the state just over $8 million in taxes and a local share assessment of $470,656.
