Swedish Gambling Regulator, Spelinspektionen, has released data from a public survey revealing that as many as 72% of adults over the legal gambling age have gambled in the past 12 months.
The survey, led by survey company SKOP, was carried out at the end of November 22 and was commissioned by the regulator as a yearly overview of the gambling habits of the Swedish public.
Some key findings of the survey include:
- 72% of all Swedes have gambled for money in the past 12 months – This is largely the same level as data recorded for the same period in 2021.

Spelinspektionen recently announced that it would introduce new measures to clamp down on software suppliers that supply technology to unlicensed gambling websites in the Swedish market. Meanwhile, earlier in the year the regulator also reinstated online spending limits in a bid to combat problem gambling.
